I'm just going to start off by saying I'm not crazy about Avatar. However I understand why this movie got the recognition it did. It was definitely not for the plot, it was for the stunning visuals and above average music. The music was quite interesting. It had many orchestral elements mixed with ethic sounding sounds. It went well with the movie. The movie had a very epic feel to it and the orchestral music helped emphasize that. It also had a nature theme the ethnic instruments helped to sort of distinguish the Na'vi from the humans, They seemed to use the classic style orchestral music more in the human parts.
